2012 Mayschosser Spätburgunder Trocken

Complex Ahr Pinot Noir with Characteristic Dark Berry & Spice

This dry spätburgunder (pinot noir) was made in the Ahr Valley and matured in large oak barrels called “doppelstuck fässer.” It is clear pale ruby in appearance with a profound nose. The grapes used to make this wine were harvested at a very ripe 88 degrees öchsle which enables the juicy dark fruit of black cherries, blackberries, and plum. Other tones present themselves in the form of oak, light animalic tones, and mineral tones throughout a medium long finish. This wine is a great pair for grilled pork or even beef.
