2011 Hans Bausch Hattenheimer Hassel Riesling Auslese
Electrically Vibrant Edelsüss Rheingau Riesling with Citrus & Honey
This Rheingau auslese is one of the crown jewels of the Hans Bausch winery. It is a fruit-sweet wine from the “grand” classified vineyard tract known as the Hattenheimer Hassel. It is a clear pale gold in appearance with a multitude of fruit including apple, pear, honeydew melon, and lime flesh. Minerality, gummy candy, and honey tones compliment the fruit but the perfectly balanced acidity is what makes this full bodied sweet riesling feel like pure excitement bottled in a traditional Rheingau bottle. Enjoy it by itself after dinner with our without dessert or for holidays with sweet pastries.
