German Wine Producing Regions
German wine law and the European Economic Community only officially recognize thirteen wine growing regions in Germany (“anbaugebiete”/on-bou-gi-bēt-ǝ/). They spread over most of Germany but most are in the Southwestern quarter and the German Federal State of Rheinland-Pfalz. Only grapes grown in these thirteen officially recognized regions can be used to produce qualitätswein and prädikatswein. Traubenhaus currently offers wine from the Mosel, Pfalz, Rheingau, Mittelrhein, and Ahr.
